Vernon Kay is the bookies’ favourite to replace Scott Mills on BBC Radio 2’s breakfast show after the presenter was sacked over his ‘personal conduct’.
Mills’s final appearance came on Tuesday, six days before this morning’s announcement that the 53-year-old is ‘no longer contracted’ at the corporation.
His sacking relates to a complaint about a ‘historic male relationship’, according to reports, and the DJ is understood to have been informed over the weekend.
