The Greek Ministry of Shipping has denied that the vessel ‘Epaminondas’ was seized by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, after Iran claimed it stopped two ‘non-compliant’ ships.
Iran claimed earlier on Wednesday that it seized two ships – the MSC Francesca and the Epaminondas – that are now in the IRGC’s custody, after three vessels were attacked in the Strait of Hormuz.
It added that the ships had ‘endangered maritime security by operating without the necessary permits and by tampering with navigation systems.’ Tasnim reported that the vessels had been ‘escorted to the Iranian coast’.
