Alleged killer of Microsoft account manager, 44, who was found drowned next to private members’ club appears in court – as murder trial is delayed

The trial of an alleged killer who stands accused of murdering a Microsoft account manager found drowned near a private members’ club has been adjourned.

Nelio Gouveia, 44, appeared at Oxford Crown Court on Friday accused of murdering Jennifer Symonds in Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire, in March. 

Dressed in a white shirt and dark green trousers, Gouveia, who required a Portuguese interpreter, was expected to be arraigned on a single count of murder.

But Judge Ian Pringle told the defendant he will instead be asked to enter a plea on September 18 as his trial – initially set to start on September 1 – was
