Britain is bracing for three horrid nights this week as temperatures are not expected to drop below 20C, making it ‘very hard’ for people to recover from the daytime heat.

In some areas, this could mean scorching nighttime temperatures of nearly 30C, with the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) issuing a series of yellow and amber heat alerts.
