Summer concert series on King’s Sandringham estate is axed over soaring costs and low ticket sales

A summer concert series on the King’s Sandringham estate has been axed – with the organiser blaming an ‘increasingly saturated festival market’ and low ticket sales.

Three Heritage Live festivals will no longer go ahead despite ‘desperate work behind the scenes’ after it suffered soaring artist and staffing costs.

GCE Live, which describes itself as ‘one of the few remaining British independent promoters’, promised line-ups including Christina Aguilera, Eric Clapton and Lionel Richie at the royal estate in Norfolk over August.

The Scissor Sisters were due to perform at Audley End House in Essex, also in August, while Richard Ashcroft was among headliners
