A photographer captured the stunning moment a doe roe deer stopped to peer over a crop of wheat.
The wild animal, which was travelling with her fawn, was spotted in the village of Barsbuttel close to Hamburg in northern Germany.
Matthias Determann, 48, said he had been ‘stalking’ through a field on a trail when the doe’s distinctive ears caught his eye.
The deer was with her fawn – who was said to be too small to be visible in the field.
