Lewis Hamilton’s father makes £2.9m selling 27 of his classic cars at auction

If rumours are to be believed, Lewis Hamilton is earning £50million-a-year from his Ferrari F1 contract.

But it’s not just the seven-time Formula One champion who has been cashing in recently in the Hamilton household.

His father, Anthony, 66, sold a selection of classic cars from his own private collection at the weekend, making almost £2.9million in a matter of hours.

On Sunday, 27 cars from his garage were offered to the highest bidder at the Iconic Auctioneers British Racing Drivers’ Club Classic Sale at Silverstone.

The cars attracted interest from international collectors, with Hamilton Senior’s cars largely made up of British icons.
