Carrick has not done a massive amount of experimenting with his lineups this summer but it was his academy talents who did the business against Rosenborg, with only one of the five goals scored by a first-team player. His summer signings have made a positive start, too, with Andrey Santos making a great impression in the base of midfield. He will not be joined by fellow new arrival Youri Tielemans, though, after he failed to make the travelling squad for this match.
