Police launch manhunt after house raid suspect, 22, flees custody in T-shirt and shorts

A manhunt is underway after a house raid suspect fled custody on the way to court in a T-shirt and shorts today.

Stephen Grzyb, 22, of Princess Drive, Liverpool, made off on foot on arrival at Liverpool Magistrates’ Court at around 10am.

He escaped after being transported from a police custody suite by prisoner transport contractor GEOAmey, Merseyside Police said.

Grzyb, who was charged with a domestic-related burglary, fled down Red Cross Street in the direction of The Strand, the force added.

He is described as white, with short, dark hair and was last seen wearing a navy T-shirt and navy shorts.
