Ridley Scott has shared a rare insight into his family life as he told how he kept ‘absolute communication’ with his children during their childhood despite his very busy schedule.

The film director, 88, got his first major international film breakthrough with 1979s Alien, going on to make several other huge blockbuster movies including Blade Runner and Gladiator.

And while his work behind the camera is a major part of his life, Ridley’s most important job is fatherhood, with Ridley noting he made sure he remained a present dad despite his work often taking him away from home.
