‘It’s like living next to an F1 track’: Neighbours say revving supercars, drumming and late-night fireworks at one of UK’s biggest Asian wedding venues is making their lives hell

Furious residents say revving supercars and the constant sound of fireworks at one of Britain’s biggest Asian wedding venues is making their lives ‘hell’.

The ‘grand’ and ‘luxurious’ venue – called The Monal by Jalwa in West Yorkshire – opened last June and hosts extravagant weddings for up to 800 guests.

For two decades, the venue was home to the world’s largest Indian restaurant, called the Aakash, until it closed down in November 2022.

However, since being converted into a wedding venue, residents who live in flats just metres from the two-storey Grade II Listed building have compared it to living next to a ‘Formula 1 track’.
