A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a ‘wonderful, bingo-loving’ pensioner died following a burglary at a London home.

Rose Smith, 75, was taken to hospital after reports of a break in at a house in Finsbury Park on Friday evening.

A 46–year–old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and aggravated burglary.

Paying tribute, Ms Smith’s family described her death as the ‘most devastating loss our family could imagine’.

The family added: ‘Rose was a truly wonderful, outgoing woman who was loved by so many people.
