Dolly Parton’s Broadway musical still set to open on what would have been her 81st birthday

Dolly Parton‘s Broadway dreams will still come true despite her tragic passing, at age 80, at her Tennessee home on Tuesday.

‘As was Dolly’s wish, the Broadway production of Dolly: A True Original Musical will begin previews December 7 at the St. James Theatre in New York City,’ producers said in a statement.

The hit show will then officially open January 19 on what would’ve been her 81st birthday following a sold-out run in her Nashville hometown last summer.
