A man has died and at least six other people have been injured after being crushed by a falling sign at a Christian festival.
Emergency services were called to Big Church Festival near Steyning in West Sussex following the incident at around 3.38pm on Friday.
A 41-year-old man from Eastbourne died at the scene. His family has been informed and are being supported by specialist officers, Sussex Police said.
Eyewitnesses described seeing a ‘large wooden sign’ collapse near the entrance to a tented area.
Theo Saville, who was at the festival, told the BBC it fell in the ‘direction of the wind’.
