Sandra was handed 32 traffic fines worth £2,800 after criminals cloned her VW Golf’s number plate – but it was when she tried to appeal that the nightmare truly began

Returning from two weeks’ holiday, Sandra Yarwood had no idea that anything was amiss with the small, black Volkswagen Golf still parked in the street outside.

Until, that is, the traffic violation notices started pouring through the letter box.

The media consultant from Earl’s Court in London was astonished to receive no fewer than 32 separate £90 fines from seven different local authorities, accompanied by claims she’d driven in bus lanes, parked illegally and violated no-traffic zones across the capital.
