Like millions, my eyesight suddenly dropped off a cliff as soon as I hit 40. I began struggling to read books, laptop and phone screens. So could a pair of £85 ‘red-light’ glasses REALLY transform my vision?

Peering at the menu in a local restaurant, I groan as I realise that I’ve forgotten my glasses yet again.

The food choices are printed in tiny letters and I can hardly decipher a thing.
