Revealed: The British towns with fewest jobs for young people as more than 1million left unemployed or out of education

Rotherham is the worst place to be a young person looking for a job, according to a new survey of UK vacancies.

With just 46 opportunities per 1,000 young people, the town’s bleak outlook demonstrates one of the reasons a million British young people are currently not in education, employment or training (NEET).

A new report from the Institute for Public Policy Research (IPPR) suggests young people face a stark postcode lottery.
