Southport killer Axel Rudakubana has appeared in court today charged with assaults on prison staff at Belmarsh.
Rudakubana appeared in court via videolink wearing a grey and black striped tracksuit and spoke only to confirm his name and date of birth.
Westminster Magistrates’ Court heard that Rudakubana allegedly threw boiling water over a prison officer through the hatch in the door of his cell after obtaining a kettle.
The court heard that he mixed water with sugar before pouring the hot syrupy solution dubbed ‘prison napalm’ over Andrew Kemmish on May 6 last year.
The victim was able to seek medical attention quickly to prevent permanent injury
