Kemi Badenoch will rally her Tory troops with a brutal attack on Labour’s ‘tax doom loop’ today. 

Closing the party’s conference in Birmingham, Mrs Badenoch is to lay out a starkly Thatcherite alternative path for the country.

She will vow to slash the burden for firms wanting to employ young people, and is expected to signal an attack on inheritance tax – which has been hitting growing numbers of middle-class families.

Mrs Badenoch will tee up the next election – which senior Conservatives still believe could come as early as next year – as a ‘battle for the soul of this nation’.
