Scotland’s First Minister has been accused of ‘running scared’ after he refused to take part in a pre-election TV leaders’ debate because of a lack of female representation.
John Swinney is to send SNP housing secretary Mairi McAllan, 33, as a substitute on Question Time in Aberdeen tomorrow, while the other parties all send their leaders.
He justified the decision by saying that a ‘group of blokes sitting around talking politics’ would ‘not be a good look’.
