Man, 35, is charged with murder and failing to stop after grammar school headteacher was killed in crash while cycling

A man has been charged with the murder of a grammar school headteacher after he was killed in a crash while cycling.

Simon Richardson, 35, has also been charged with failing to stop at the scene of the collision which killed Michael Mullins, 56.

Emergency services were alerted to a collision involving a cyclist and a car on Paddock Lane in Altrincham, Greater Manchester, at around 6:10pm on Monday.

Paramedics treated Mr Mullins, from Weaverham, Northwich, at the scene, but despite their best efforts he was sadly declared dead.
