The surgeon who allegedly killed a man when he removed the patient’s liver instead of his spleen said he made the mistake because he ‘was so upset’.
Dr. Thomas Shaknovsky is facing a manslaughter charge relating to the August 2024 death of Bill Bryan, a 70-year-old man from Alabama.
Bryan and his wife Beverly had been vacationing along the Emerald Coast in Florida when he got a pain in his abdomen which was traced to his spleen.
Beverly has since filed a lawsuit, and in a deposition given last November Shaknovsky offered his account of what happened.
