A 25-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of child neglect after a baby girl died in hospital following an ‘incident’ at a home.
Emergency services including an air ambulance rushed to a property in South Manchester on Thursday morning after reports of a concern for welfare.
A neighbour reported seeing a paramedic run out of the home with a baby. ‘It was terrifying. Very scary,’ the resident said.
The baby girl was taken to hospital where she later died despite the best efforts of emergency services.
The woman arrested on suspicion of child neglect remains in police custody, Greater Manchester Police said.
