The Doctor Who Christmas special episode has been axed as the BBC the put show out to competitive tender to ‘invest in its long-term future’.
The BBC released a statement on Wednesday which read: ‘As part of securing the next phase of the show for future generations, and in line with the BBC’s Charter and Agreement requirements, the BBC will put Doctor Who out to competitive tender this year.
