Just think, a start-up company yesterday made dollar millionaires of 4,400 employees, from the rocket scientists to the janitors to the spud-bashers in the canteen.

The visionary founder has become the world’s first paper trillionaire. It’s the biggest stock-market flotation in history, and the banks have made hundreds of millions just to bring the offering to the public.

But for a moment I want you to ignore the spooling digits of the new financial superlatives. Close your ears to the cheers
