Iran’s World Cup nightmare continues as star player is told his visa has EXPIRED after just one game

The chaos engulfing Iran’s World Cup campaign has escalated after the team said winger Mehdi Torabi’s visa had expired in the wake of their opening game against New Zealand.

Uncertainty has surrounded Iran’s participation in the tournament ever since the United States and Israel attacked the country back in February.

President Donald Trump warned the team not to come – for their ‘own life and safety’, while Iran also moved its base from Arizona to Mexico.

Nearly a dozen members of its delegation were denied visas and World Cup organizers have been dogged by controversy over Iran’s travel to and from the US for games.
