Thomas Tuchel says England must play football that supporters in pubs can fall in love with, as he vowed to keep on attacking at the World Cup.
The Three Lions boss kept his players back in the dressing-room at half-time during Wednesday’s group opener against Croatia in Dallas, with the score at 2-2 after a first half his assistant Anthony Barry had labelled ‘complicated and confused’.
But after Tuchel delivered a rousing speech during the interval, his team blew away the Croats to record a 4-2 victory.
‘I had thought in the second half, “People in the pubs will like this!”,’ said Tuchel.
