The zookeeper who saved a three-year-old boy after he was thrown into a crocodile pit by a stranger had just become a grandmother herself.

Tracey Johnson ‘heroically’ jumped into the enclosure at Johnsons of Old Hurst, near Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire, following the incident yesterday lunchtime.

A three-year-old boy was critically injured by at least one crocodile after being tossed into the pit by a stranger with learning difficulties – who has already been released from police custody, it was revealed today.

Friends told the Daily Mail that the zookeeper likely didn’t hesitate to save the little boy because one of her twin sons recently
