Drivers could face points by checking the time on their smartwatches behind the wheel, the RAC has warned.
The motoring services company warned that smartwatch owners are ‘in the dark’ about the rules while driving, which it said were unclear.
A survey by the firm found that 40 per cent of people who drive at least once a month own a smartwatch.
Among 17-34 year olds, it is as many as 73 per cent of drivers.
And while many would not use their phone while driving, 22 per cent of respondents said they touch their smartwatch while on the road, with 21 per cent
