A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a woman was found dead at home.
Police were called to an address at Oakwell Court, Longton, in Stoke-on-Trent at around 3.30am on Sunday where they discovered the body of 24-year-old Sarah-Louise Pennington.
The suspect, a 30-year-old man, remains in custody after extra time was granted for officers to question him.
The force is now supporting the victim’s family while an investigation into the alleged murder continues.
A cordon remains at the property as of Monday afternoon, police said.
Officers are not seeking anyone else in connection with Ms Pennington’s suspected murder.
