Widow of PC Andrew Harper condemns ‘deplorable’ politicians as row deepens over plans to release his killers from prison early

The widow of hero PC Andrew Harper hit out at the ‘deplorable’ Labour government after it was announced two of his killers are set to be released early from prison.

As a row unfolds over Labour’s soft justice programme, Lissie Harper accused politicians of failing to pay proper recognition to the anguish suffered by families of victims.

The childhood sweethearts had been married just four weeks when 28-year-old PC Harper was dragged to his death as three teens tried to steal a quad bike in 2019.
