‘I’m absolutely heartbroken for them’: MP Naz Shah pays personal tribute to wife and 15-year-old daughter who drowned at Essex beach while trying to save child

A Labour MP has paid a personal tribute to the mother and daughter who died while trying to rescue a child at the beach. 

Naz Shah, the MP for Bradford West, who knows the two who died and has previously been supported by their family has spoken of her heartbreak at the situation. 

Shelina Rahman, a teacher in her 40s, and her 15-year-old daughter Sameeha both died after rushing into the water to try to help the youngster while on a family summer holiday trip yesterday.
