Five police officers are injured after some had to be pulled from the Thames as armed patrol boat crashes near Westminster Bridge

Five police officers have been injured after a number had to be recovered from the Thames when their boat hit Westminster Bridge. 

Emergency services rushed to the incident on the River Thames after the patrol boat crashed in central London at around 3.45pm today. 

RNLI responders could be seen treating casualties at the scene. The Metropolitan Police do not believe any members of the public were injured or involved. 

The cause of the incident has yet to be confirmed as the force has said their ‘priority is the wellbeing of the officers involved’.
