On a visit to Hanoi, Vietnam, in the spring, I stumbled across a shoe shop that specialised in ballet flats. Among the myriad styles available, a pair of Maison Margiela-inspired split-toe ballet flats called out to me. I’ve since worn the black pumps to death – quite literally, as the soles have fallen off (that’s the price you pay for £18, I guess).
