A seven-year-old boy is fighting for his life after he was swept away at sea by a current that drowned a Bangladeshi politician’s wife and teenage daughter.
Musa Ahmed was airlifted to hospital on July 22 following a ‘family day out’ at West Mersea Beach.
His 15-year-old cousin, Sameeha Rahman, and her mother Shelina Rahman, 41, died after rushing into the water to try to help the child.
A number of family members were also taken to hospital and are recovering, Essex Police said.
Musa remains in a critical condition following the incident.
