Newcastle United boss Eddie Howe has stood down after five years in charge and will be replaced by German coach Matthias Jaissle.
The 48-year-old has been contemplating his future in recent months and has now come to an agreement to end his St James’ Park tenure with immediate effect. He took time at the end of last season to consider the best way forward for him and the club but decided to carry on.
