Andy Burnham calls for Gianni Infantino to RESIGN: Prime Minister tells under-fire FIFA president he is ‘the wrong man’ to lead football in wake of World Cup backlash

Prime Minister Andy Burnham has joined the growing contingent calling for FIFA President Gianni Infantino to resign over his plans to introduce private investment into the World Cup.

Burnham, an Everton fan, has said Infantino – who wants to generate £3.1billion in private investment in the World Cup – is no longer fit to govern world football.

It comes after UEFA announced a boycott of FIFA competitions over the plans while Concacaf and the AFC also opposed the proposals.

The AFC went as far to urge FIFA to undertake an urgent review of their leadership.
