It is a continuation of the British No1’s dreadful run of injury and illness and – given the Open is the final Grand Slam of the year – her season is in danger of petering out.
The 23-year-old has been in St Moritz, Switzerland, from where she posted a video of herself practicing serves – with the significant caveat that she was still wearing a protective boot on her right leg.
