Tributes have been paid to a ‘beautiful’ 16-year-old cheerleading coach who died in a ‘terrible’ boat accident while on a family holiday in the Dominican Republic.

Abbie Lainton, from Swindon, Wiltshire, is understood to have died after a vessel burst into flames off the coast of the Caribbean island.

Two of her siblings were among more than 20 tourists ‘badly injured’ after the catamaran exploded into a fireball off Soana island on July 27 as it made its way back to Bayahibe.
