Ex-Neighbours actor loses appeal over Nazi salute at Melbourne restaurant

A former soap opera star did perform a Nazi salute at a ticketed event, a judge has ruled as she threw out his appeal.

Damien Richardson, 57, went to the Victorian County Court to challenge a previous ruling after he was in November found guilty of intentionally performing a gesture that resembled a Nazi salute.

A magistrate had determined the former Neighbours star performed the salute at a gathering of the ethno-nationalist National Workers Alliance at a restaurant in Melbourne‘s south-east in September 2024.

Richardson complained about Melbourne’s Age newspaper likening him ‘to Adolf Hitler’ before performing the gesture, with the event filmed
