Residents living near a famous London landmark are outraged by developer plans to replace it with what has been described as a ‘Middle Eastern’ sculpture.
Wandsworth roundabout’s famous ‘Pretzel’ – officially named ‘The Digi-Bridge’ – has stood in place in the south west London borough since 1995.
The black twin ring atom-like structure, which stands over 30 metres tall and 25 metres wide, holds a four-sided digital advertising board and towers over the roundabout’s bike and pedestrian underpass near Wandsworth Bridge.
The underpass was the filming location for the opening scene of Stanley Kubrick’s 1971 dystopian classic A Clockwork Orange.
