Academic with historic links to extreme group hired in the same Cambridge faculty as ‘plagiarism professor’ Jason Arday

An academic with historic links to the now banned Hizb ut-Tahrir terror group has been recruited by Cambridge University to the same faculty as ex-professor Jason Arday.

Dr Farah Ahmed wrote a chapter for a pamphlet published in 2002 by the group before it was proscribed, attacking ‘western education’ as a ‘threat’ to Muslims, it is claimed.

The academic is now an assistant research professor at Cambridge’s Faculty of Education – the same department that recruited Mr Arday, who has stepped down following a plagiarism row.
