Woman in her 60s is arrested on suspicion of murder after OAP in her 90s dies in house fire

A woman in her 60s has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a 90-year-old woman died in a house fire.

Emergency services rushed to Elmgrove Road West in Hardwicke, Gloucestershire, shortly before 4am on Sunday after reports of a fire.  

A woman in her 90s was found unconscious inside the property and later pronounced dead.

The women knew each other, and it is believed to have been an isolated incident, police said. 

The woman in her 60s, from Gloucester, was arrested on suspicion of murder and arson with intent to endanger life.

She remains in police custody for questioning.
