Family in Shoreham beach tragedy died after ‘girl got caught in fishing net’, witnesses claim: Man, woman and teen girl killed in summer holiday horror while young girl fights for life in hospital

The Shoreham beach tragedy which left three people dead and one fighting for their life was sparked when a girl got caught in a fishing net, witnesses have claimed.

Fishermen reported seeing four people struggling in the water in Shoreham-by-Sea, West Sussex, at 3pm yesterday while sea conditions were choppy.

A man, a woman and a teenage girl have all been confirmed dead, while a young girl remains in critical condition. All four are from the same family, and were camping nearby, it is understood.

Eyewitnesses have claimed one of the children got tangled in a fishing net while swimming, sparking the tragedy.
