Circus acrobat who plunged 15 feet in front of a horrified crowd and shattered a dozen bones on impact is now SUING Cirque du Soleil for nearly $17 million

A former Cirque du Soleil acrobat who suffered devastating injuries after falling 15 feet during a performance in front of a large crowd has sued the circus.

Mariia Konfektova, a Russian aerialist who holds the world record for most seated aerial hoop rotations in 30 seconds, was swinging on a hoop during Cirque du Soleil’s KOOZA show in Portland, Oregon, in 2024 when she plunged to the ground.

Shortly after the accident, Cirque du Soleil stated that its performer was ‘recovering and being cared for by our medical and coaching team.’
