Melissa Gilbert called on Hollywood to protect child stars just days after the tragic passing of Hayden Panettiere at age 36.
The late actress was found unresponsive at an apartment in South Carolina on Sunday, August 16 and was later declared dead following a suspected overdose.
The 62-year-old Little House On The Prairie star penned an emotional Substack essay which was published on Saturday as she slammed child actors being ‘exploited’ and added that ‘something has got to be done.’
It comes as Gilbert’s husband Timothy Busfield is charged with four counts of criminal sexual contact with a child under 13. He has pled not guilty.
