Andy Burnham condemns ‘truly reprehensible’ joyriding videos as funeral is held for Irish teen, 18, who died alongside four other boys in head-on motorway crash

Andy Burnham criticised people posting videos of themselves driving recklessly on social media as a teenager who died alongside four of his friends in a head-on crash on an Irish motorway was laid to rest today. 

Jeremy O’Brien, 18, became the fourth of the five joyriders to be buried during a funeral mass in County Carlow. 

Police set up several checkpoints around Carlow Town before the service and stationed a public order unit nearby over fears of possible disorder. 

Mr O’Brien died alongside Jack Kennedy, 17, Kamil Pustkowski, 17, Alex McCarthy, 17, and Joe Carthy, 15, when their car collided with another vehicle while driving
