Reform UK today unveiled plans to hand taxpayers £30 cashback if they are left on hold for more than half an hour by HMRC.
Robert Jenrick, the party’s Treasury spokesman, said a Reform government would offer Britons a £30 tax credit if they have to wait more than 30 minutes to speak to tax officials.
He said the ‘delay, repay’ scheme would provide a ‘big incentive’ for HMRC to ‘actually provide proper customer service’.
Mr Jenrick also vowed, if Reform win the next general election, then the pay of top HMRC bosses would be linked to the tax authority’s customer service performance.
