A top boss at Canada‘s tax-payer funded broadcaster allegedly banned journalists from referring to 9/11 as ‘terror attacks.’
In an apparently leaked memo to staff obtained by the Toronto Sun, Basem Boshra told reporters and editors at the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation: ‘Do not refer to the Sept 11 attacks as terrorist attacks.’
The note goes on to advise reporters to say that ‘the hijackings led to passenger jet crashes in Washington, DC, Pennsylvania and Manhattan.
‘The World Trade Center (WTC in second reference) was destroyed,’ the memo continued, citing the CBC’s internal language guide.
