A teenage cyclist has died after being hit by a car – seeing the driver arrested.
The 16-year-old boy was fatally struck near Birmingham City Stadium in Small Heath in the early hours of Friday morning.
The smash happened at the junction of Cattell Road and Templefield Street, West Midlands police said.
The schoolboy was rushed to hospital but sadly could not be saved and died.
His family are being supported by specialist officers.
A man, 47, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
He is being held in police custody.
